Features and Benefits
Flexible Service Models and Billing Plans
RBS Internet Service is available in three service models to better serve the ways our customers use the Internet: a defined maximum throughput with a fixed monthly charge; a burstable bandwidth option that allows bursting up to the access speed, where billing is based on 95th percentile utilization, and lastly a volume based service, where billing is based on the total volume of traffic in a month.
Extensive and Diverse Internet Connectivity
With access to one of the most interconnected Internet backbones in Canada with direct connections to hundreds of carriers across North America. RBS is able to deliver high availability, low latency service with a minimal number of hops as demanded by our customers. Our Internet infrastructure easily supports the delivery of over 400 Gbps of traffic during peak times throughout a typical day.
Highly Scalable Multi-Service Access
RBS invests in a customer’s site by deploying an intelligent access switch with multiple network ports and a 1000 Mbps fibre optic uplink to our network. This allows you to increase bandwidth and add new services on demand without the need for any new hardware.
Our partner owns and operates a national network with over 25,000 km of fibre routes including touch points in all major Canadian cities and US Network Access Points. RBS can provide fibre-based network access in thousands of buildings across Canada.
We offer Canadian enterprises a high-availability data centre environment for mission-critical systems, without all the complexity, cost and risk of building and operating their own in-house facilities.
When just a few minutes of downtime can mean that different between success and failure in today’s highly demanding customer environment, a reliable, robust IT infrastructure is simple not an option – it’s the cost of doing business.
So how do you minimize that cost, while still meeting priority data centre facility requirements for security, flexibility, scalability and control. In a word, colocation.
Features and Benefits
Access to the latest technology:
We are constantly upgrading our data centres to meet the demand of subscribers and support the latest technological innovations. We manage all upgrades and all certifications for hardware, software and support, so you don’t have to.
Capital Preservation and cost-savings:
Colocation frees up capital that can be invested in core business initiatives that drive increased competitiveness and business growth. By amortizing your costs across multiple facilities, we are able to offer you secure, high-availability data centre services at significantly reduced cost compared to an on-premise data centre solution.
Redundant systems translate into uptime. We use sophisticated architecture designs to protect your mission-critical application and data against possible impact from single points of failure such as power, HVAC and network failures. That’s how the facilities can provide 100% uptime.
You retain complete control over the operations and maintenance of your equipment. A powerful, web-based portal gives you access to timely information about the condition of your hosted infrastructure, and lets you monitor service performance metrics, manage security for your authorized contacts, submit and view trouble ticket requires and manage DNS for your account.
A colocation decision allows you to free up IT staff to focus on more strategic business initiatives that drive innovation and value-generation for your business – large, sophisticated IT organization are opting for a colocation option over expending valuable resources on tactical infrastructure operations and maintenance.
